Bio-Maureen McLaughlin, LA.c.
Maureen holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Georgetown University. In 1997, she graduated from Midwest College of Oriental Medicine at the top of her class. Couples struggling to conceive began presenting in her private practice (first in Oak Park then later in Grayslake, IL) and with her treatments, there was great success. In 2002, she started doing a pre-and post-transfer protocol for infertility patients in the Chicago area with IVF1. Women (and men) would come for treatments during the course of their IUI or IVF cycle and also get treated on-site day of embryo transfer. She went on to become Chief Acupuncturist for Advanced Fertility Centers of Chicago (2009-Present) seeing patients privately and at their Surgical Center on day of transfer. Over the years, Maureen has engaged in Continuing Education in infertility and traditional chinese medicine with some of the finest teachers in the field. Helping women and couples realize their dream of a baby is one of her deepest joys in life.
Maureen is certified in Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture (also known as facial rejuvenation). She became an Acupuncturist without Borders in 2016 to provide acupuncture treatments in the field during disasters. In addition, Maureen is an experienced Community Acupuncturist. She is passionate about acupuncture and its application during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. She has collaborated with doctors and nurse-midwives to assist in pregnancy, labor and postpartum issues so that time of life can be as healthy and vibrant for the mother, baby, and family as possible. Maureen also treats other conditions acupuncture is known to be helpful for such as Upper Respiratory, Digestive, Post-Surgical, Immunological, Neurological, and Menopausal. She relocated to Chicagoland in May 2017 after a year on the east coast working at Reproductive Medicine Associates of CT on the Integrative Fertility and Wellness Team.
